 Three alleged kidnappers are killed by Edo police, who release Italians. The Italian Rev. Fr. Luigi Brena, 64, who was kidnapped along Ogunwenyi, Usen community in the state's Ovia South-West Local Government Area, was freed, according to the Edo State Police Command on Monday. The suspects were shot and killed during the rescue operation, according to a statement from ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, the state command's deputy police public relations officer.  NBA laments loss of court inspector killed by kidnappers. Odera Onumajulu Odera Onumajulu, a regular court inspector who was shot during a kidnapping attack, has passed away. The lawyer's passing was verified by the Nigeria Bar Association's Owerri branch to the MEDIA on Thursday. Onumajulu, who was abducted and shot on May 22 in Owerri, reportedly passed away on Wednesday after doctors unsuccessfully attempted to preserve her life for a month. Before releasing her, the assailants who had taken her from in front of her home shot her. The loss of the female attorney upset the NBA branch in Owerri, according to its secretary, Chinedu Agu. Onumajulu was a customary court inspector affiliated to the Customary Court of Appeal prior to the terrible incident, and he was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2016.
