44 Lecturers at UniAbuja are promoted to professorships notwithstanding the ASUU strike. University of Abuja The University of Abuja's (UNIABUJA) governing board has authorized the promotion of 44 academic staff members to the ranks of professors and associate professors despite the fact that they have been on strike for five months. In February of this year, the teachers joined their colleagues in Nigerian universities to go on a nationwide strike. 22 employees were elevated to the rank of professor during the UNIABUJA exercise, while 20 employees were advanced to the status of associate professor. The promotion of two bursary employees to the position of deputy bursar was also approved by the council. Their promotion occurred while the academics were on strike.
