Man arrested in Kwara with human and animal parts

PRO, kwara state police command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi

The Kwara State Police Command announced on Friday that it had freed a Chinese national who had been kidnapped last Saturday by armed suspects in a quarry in Shao in the local government area of Moro.

The attackers at the Quarry shot and killed one inspector and wounded an officer while the Chinese national was being hauled away.

The Chinese citizen was freed from his captors after they managed to flee from the police tactical teams that closed in on their hiding place, according to a statement from the police by the command's spokeswoman, SP Ajayi Okasanmi.
"The command wishes to inform the general public that the efforts by the police and other security operatives deployed in the search and rescue operation in support of a Chinese citizen who was abducted by some gunmen on 3/7/2022 at CGC Construction Company along Shao/Oloru expressway yielded positive results," Okasanmi said.

"As the pressure from the rescue teams increased, the kidnappers were forced to abandon the victim and flee for their lives since they could no longer withstand the strain. In an endeavor to apprehend the culprits so they can face justice, police officers and the tactical teams assigned to the operation are still in the bushes.

Before being reunited with his family, the rescued Chinese national is currently receiving a medical checkup to determine his condition of health.

In a related occurrence, Okasanmi also reported that in Ilorin, the state capital, police detained a guy they believe to be a ritualist carrying a human head and animal parts.
Eagle-eyed agents with the Kwara State Police Command detained some suspected ritualists whose specialty is the purchase, sale, and trafficking of human body parts after acting on actionable intelligence. They traveled to Balogun Fulani Motor Park in the Ilorin South LGA of the state after having human skulls transported there from Lagos State.

On the basis of the information, the team detained 41-year-old Ibrahim Hamza "m" of the Orisunbare neighborhood of Okolowo, Ilorin, who had previously picked up the box from the car park. His name and phone number were inscribed on a human skull that was hidden inside a carton and found after a covert search of him.

The suspect actually purchased the human skull, horse head, and chimpanzee, according to preliminary research into the situation.
