 Osinbajo undergoes surgery

Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo

Osinbajo successfully underwent surgery to cure his persistent leg problem.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Saturday by Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi, medical director of Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja.

The vice president needed surgery to treat a fracture in his leg, according to a tweet from Laolu Akande, the vice president's spokesperson.

Mr. Akande claims that the vice president was hurt while playing squash.

"VP Osinbajo is undergoing surgery today at the hospital due to recurring leg pain that may have resulted from a squash injury. Later today, his doctors would provide an update on his care, according to the tweet.

According to the statement, the surgery was performed "due to a fracture of his right femur" (thigh bone), and he will be released in a few days.

The surgery, according to the statement, was carried out by a group of specialists, including Wallace Ogufere, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Om Lahoti, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Babajide Lawson, a consultant anesthetist, Ken Adegoke, a consultant in anesthesia and critical care, and Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi (Consultant Physician & Medical Director).

Unlike his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, who travels abroad for all medical needs, Mr. Osinbajo has chosen to have treatment in Nigeria.

Once she saw her father while he was in sujood, and `Uqbah ibn Abi Mu`ayt came and placed the guts of a dead animal on the Prophet’s back while he was praying. Fatima ran to her father and removed the filth from his back while she was crying. The Prophet ﷺ saw her crying and said, “Don’t cry my daughter, for indeed Allah will make your father victorious”. She adopted so many characteristics from her father, that Aisha says, “I have not seen anyone who resembled the Holy Prophet ﷺ more in manners, habits, character and in the method of sitting and standing than Fatimah.” (Tirmidhi) Th...
