Orode Uduaghan, the daughter of a previous governor in the state named Emmanuel Uduaghan, was allegedly targeted during the Peoples Democratic Party primary election in the state, according to charges made by the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu.
In a Monday press conference in Asaba, Aniagwu clarified that the governor had nothing against the former governor's daughter.
"Governor Okowa did not conspire against Uduaghan's daughter," he claimed. The daughter of the former governor is a member of this administration's staff, and she is performing admirably in the duties assigned to her.
For instance, governor Okowa wouldn't have appointed her to a political position if he had something against her.
"You know that the Governor is not from her constituency for him to determine her success, so we advise her to try her luck again next time."
The commissioner claimed that Mr. Evance Ivwurie, a former member of the State House of Assembly, was only engaging in politics based on resentment and animosity.
He claimed Ivwurie was denied reelection to the State Assembly because he was unpopular with his constituents and that since then, he has insulted the governor without justification.
Let me state for the record that all the loans we obtained are properly directed to the areas they were intended for. He went about alleging that several funds had been taken and misappropriated.
He continued, "As a government, we will stay strong and on course in fulfilling our commitments to Deltans.
According to rumors, some of Okowa's goons in Warri North conspired against Uduaghan's daughter to thwart her quest for the Assembly.
